El temita se las trae porque le da a todos los beneficios de la bicicleta en detrimento del coche… con un toque de sarcasmo. Para escucharla con calma.

Al final del post os dejo la letra.

small_english_resizeRest day for professional riders at Giro d’Italia, to prevent you from having a dull gloomy day, moving ska by Madness on Clicks, Squeaks, Crackles, Rattles and Other Bike Noises: Riding on my bike.

Madness, an English ska band from Camden Town (London), formed in 1976, was one of the most prominent bands of the late 70s and early 80s. Riding on my bike published on the 1992 Box set The Business, a well-annotated three-CD gathering of every single A-side, B-side, and 12″ bonus cut and the ultimate Madness rarities collection.

The song reviews the benefits of using bikes instead of cars… with a wryly sense of humour.

Riding on my bike Lyrics:

I went riding on my bike (he went riding on his bike)
With a spanner, pump, back and front light (with a spanner, pump, back and front light)
That’s all I need to ride in (that’s all he needs to ride in)
A marathon I’m entering (a marathon he’s entering)
I’m raising for a charity
Sponsors come running to me

I’ve learnt to cut that yellow line
And park my bike there at any time
The minute money for the meter men
The road tax up to date today
The petrol pump’s been blown sky high
My MOT now a far cry

I got a birthday just last week
But you’re not silly, believe in me
We sold our car to skip the fight
A pound I found I couldn’t find
Oh no, you don’t fool Morris

I’ve had my fill of petrol fumes
Attached myself to big balloons
And pumped them full of precious air
The traffic jam looks with despair

I’ve ridden for your charity (he’s ridden for your charity)
And on my bike I long to see (and on his bike he longs to see)
Pedal pushers at a mellow pace (pedal pushers at a mellow pace)
With directions simple to trace (with directions simple to trace)
I hope we get that extra change
Improve that child’s broken wing

I’ve learned to ride your yellow line
And park my bike there any time
The minute money for the meter men
The bike tax up to date today
I’ve been riding treetop high
My insurance is by the by

The minute money for the meter
The petrol pump’s been blown sky high.
