¡Atrevete a descubrirlas!
For cyclists and camping lovers there are two campsites in Gijón with superb camping facilities very close to the city center. A tent/caravan and bicycles is an ideal combination to enjoy Gijon.
Gijón is a bike friendly city, mostly flat with few busy roads not so difficult to avoid riding by. By the way, in the surroundings of Gijón there are countless routes and roads to get lost on a bike and discover Asturias at your own pace. Dare to enjoy them!
For motorhome users have posted a specific entry on RV parking here in Gijon.
Camping Gijón
Located at east side of San Lorenzo Beach, it’s easyly accessible through bike lane and path shared with pedestrians. It is ideal for party animal campers because it is right in the city … and mind the chance of a refreshing dip in the Cantabrian Sea before breakfast.
This bike lane is connected with city’s bike lanes network.
Camping Municipal de Deva
This campsite would be a quite a nice option for those who seek a natural environment for rest time and getting out of the city.
Located at Deva, the most beautiful rural area in Gijón, accesses are the N-632 road, several secondary roads through Cabueñes and Peñafrancia River Path (connected to Gijon’s bike lane network and cyclable although slightly broken by last winter rain).
Above there’s a map of Peñafrancia River Path to Deva. On the map, near the end of the path, you can see a point where the road passes under the highway. Before getting there, you should leave the path and take the “Camino de la Pasadiella” to reach the campsite directly. I do not recommend you to take the path with your loaded panniers as the N-632 is the best straight option.
