8:00 in the morning and the sun was shining on Gijón. Quickly ready and by ten o’clock Javier and I were already on the road. Today’s ride will take us to Villaviciosa via Tazones and back to Gijón by Alto de El Pedroso. A pleasing ride, with little traffic, cycling the beautiful “mariña” of Villaviciosa for, after gaining the top of La Atalaya, get astonished by the view of Rodiles Beach and Villaviciosa’s estuary.
A stop to eat a ‘tapa’ at El Manquín on the run and we were quickly back to the road climbing Alto de El Pedroso, gratefully sweating under the sun. The return to Gijón for those roads so often transited leads always to a discovery right around of each curve, as usual in Asturias.
